The same should be done for marijuana today. What is the main drawback? Additional tax revenue?
after all the drug users post their real names on here whats next? drug dealers? theives? loan sharks?
waste of time from law enforcement? do you have any idea how many cars, boats, motorcycles, houses, and other items are seized by the police from people selling weed. and the cash!!! you are clueless.

I am only sure of one thing after reading your "flash mob mentality comment".........YOU ARE AFRAID THAT LEGALIZATION WILL HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR GROWTH AND DISTRIBUTION OF MARIJUANA.
But....roll you one and relax sweetcakes.....it took a few years for people to lose interest in making moonshine after alcohol was legalized.
You will have a few years to continue your dealing and distribution. By then, obama will have ruined the country to the point that you will have no reason to work or make decisions. He will make them all for you. Your previous Happy Weed Acres in the woods will be controlled by your obama "CHANGED" government.
So...peace out baby.........roll you up another one.
@Life begins when you are finished trying to make a living@
Here is something to thing about. All these users getting busted and and no dealers. When you see that scenario it means law enforcement is getting it both ways. From the people they allow to sell dope and from the ones buying it. Its what some would call a "win win" situation.
Coffee would be illegal in ten days. We would not want to tick Juan Valdez off would we?
Say it ain't so, cup o' jo.
JOB Strawberry Papers are the best.
You are mighty paranoid.....you should leave the cocaine alone.
Did you divide your pot from the other drugs like you promised? Two of my guy friends (you know who) are afraid to buy from you when you have all your contraband in the same warehouse.
Get with the program......when they install the new vending machine at the washerette, your business income $$$$$$$$ are looking at a real drop.
You may have to raise your DEBT CEILING.......
Marijuana obviously makes a person smarter, huh?
Another reason to legalize the happy weed.
We could even end up with some intelligent elected officials....never mind.....My mistake, it obviously does not work on them.
Peace out, I will be back to continue this Logistics 101 Class. I must go and instruct the Seniors in "Mopping for Dummies."
Snakes crawl at night.
America is doing so great right now just imagine if we all smoke weed. More car crashes, more on the job injuries, school bus drivers will be cranking the radio, it will be friggin awesome. Plus teens today are so friggin motivated they need something to slow them down.
And then we can get the government to make dont smoke weed commercials like they do for ciggarettes. After all who is going to foot
the bill for the lung cancer it causes?
You said you never smoked weed Tolley. So what do you know about it? Heck come on over. You can smoke you a blunt and snort you a line. At least you would actually have first hand knowledge about what you are promoting. Who knows when its all over with you might change your mind about the weed and want to legalize cocaine.
Neither will abortions for the wrong reasons.
He told his buddy at the last AAA meeting that he is "real close to calling DFACS and having both his parents arrested."
I do not agree with you or California. I agree with all the families who were affected by these 1871 fatal accidents caused by drivers smoking weed. That has always been your problem Sheila. You always fail to see the whole picture.
Just think about all the accidents where people didn't die. The ones that now have to live off the system because they are disabled and can not work.
California has already proven that the tax benefit does not even come close to covering the economic loss. It only takes one cop to write a ticket. It takes a whole lotta cops to work a fatal accident scene.
Take a ride through Jersey with your windows tinted and you will not only get a citation, you will also get some art work etched into your illegal percentage of tint with a state troopers car key.
Window tint on police cars keep the interior of the police car cooler which is pretty important when an officer has to spend his whole day in the vehicle. And most important it doesn't put anyones life in danger.
I do not believe your facts in your comment. It is actually funny.
So in reality the pecentage of DUI marijuana accidents would be much higher. But as you state they are very difficult to prove in court. So all we have to go on is the 33% of marijuana drivers who have admitted using or the evidence was overwhelming enough to convict.
So there you have it, boys. Legalize pot and our cops and courts will have 44% more time to spend on serious crimes.
Of coarse, impeding the traffic will become a really serious offense. That 11 miles per hour is just not going to cut it!!!
Check out her mug shot. If I had to look at that face in the mirror when I sobered up...........I would have stayed drunk!

My friends, I had not intended to discuss this controversial subject at this particular time. However, I want you to know that I do not shun controversy. On the contrary, I will take a stand on any issue at any time, regardless of how fraught with controversy it might be. You have asked me how I feel about whiskey. All right, here is how I feel about whiskey:
If when you say whiskey you mean the devil's brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster, that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean the evil drink that topples the Christian man and woman from the pinnacle of righteous, gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, and despair, and shame and helplessness, and hopelessness, then certainly I am against it.
But, if when you say whiskey you mean the oil of conversation, the philosophic wine, the ale that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and laughter on their lips, and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean Christmas cheer; if you mean the stimulating drink that puts the spring in the old gentleman's step on a frosty, crispy morning; if you mean the drink which enables a man to magnify his joy, and his happiness, and to forget, if only for a little while, life's great tragedies, and heartaches, and sorrows; if you mean that drink, the sale of which pours into our treasuries untold millions of dollars, which are used to provide tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitiful aged and infirm; to build highways and hospitals and schools, then certainly I am for it.
This is my stand. I will not retreat from it. I will not compromise.
Today the same speech applies to marijuana. Check out the charges in the report above. 6 of the 12 charged with having less than an ounce of marijuana. Go back and look at other sheriff reports. You will find the same kind of percentages.
People will freak out when they read this opinion but GET WITH THE PROGRAM people.......tax the purchase and drop my land taxes.
Nothing at all has been accomplished by catching these half dozen people. Nothing except wasting tax dollars in court. If you think it has made a dent in crime or sin......forget it!
Check out the charges in the report above. 6 of the 12 charged with having less than an ounce of marijuana. ... tax the purchase and drop my land taxes.
Hey Tolley, you might be on to something!
Do you remember that FX Network crime show about the drug task force? Vic Mackey and his street wise coppers made plenty of busts and recovered mucho pounds of maryjane, heroin and cocaine. Here's the rub, when the arrest reports were submitted for follow up prosecution, only a fraction of the confiscated drugs were signed into the evidence room. I'm not saying anything "funny" happened in these cases. It just seems strange regarding the circumstances. It's "lots o' folk, for so little dope".
PS: Why are you so wimpy about these potheads? It simply can't be for revenue enchancement. Are you a closet toker or closet legalized pot supporter? jus askin'.
Put your over-taxed barren land to good use. Form a partnership with that knowledgeable mayhem guy, hire educated Tobby Vickkers as your grunt and raise Pikey Tabacky.
Over time, you will able to enjoy your own homegrown "mystery powder" laced blunts like relaxing mayhem does out on his nice gazebo. Your purse would ultimately be flush with lots of green moola-moola for you to spend around town like you was a rich Rockefeller.
Call up Jimmy T and run the Tolley-mayhem business plan by him for revue. Good luck.
If that is the biggest problem Pike has....I got news for you............the Amish are coming!
First off, marijuana would actually bring a lot more revenue into the system then you could imagine. The DEA spends $60,000,000,000, yes sixty billion dollars fighting the war on drugs. Now I do agree that har drugs should stay illegal (Things like heroin, crack, meth, etc.) But marijuana is something that just can't be stopped with a magic wand, it's a plant for God's sake (Genesis 1:29, for the Christians out there.) And a large portion of that sixty billion is spent on keeping MARIJUANA illegal.
Onto the next subject, about "drug dealers". Most of my experience with people that sell marijuana I will admit is quite sketchy, but it's because of the black market it is in, with it being illegal it is thrown into the batch with things that will actually ruin your life. Statistics actually show that people under the age of 21 say that getting illegal narcotics is a lot easier than getting alcohol. Wait, an illegal substance easier to obtain than alcohol? That's insane!! Actually if you think about it, it's not. The strict regulations imposed on people who distribute alcohol makes sure that alcohol does not go to minors, and a drug dealer, being their sketchy self, doesn't mind who buys what they have as long as they have the cash. You could probably ask your own child what would be easier for them and they would respond the same way.
Responding to CHIP, now I agree driving under the influence of ANY mind altering substance is a HORRIBlE and possibly LIFE ENDING decision, but the problem with knowing if someone was under the influence of marijuana or not when driving is that the only test they have to see if they were traces back 2-3 days. Granted some if not many of those fatal accidents may have been caused by someone driving under the influence of marijuana, it's very hard to judge if they really were "under the influence" due to poor testing available to us at this time. And if you just don't want to agree with me and want to continue to troll, I guess I might say let's discuss the issue of how many alcohol related fatal accidents happen, but I don't want to get on that topic to be quite honest.
My stand is to legalize marijuana, tax it, and make it the true cash crop it is. The revenue could be used to set up rehab for people on harder drugs, to fight the production of other chemical based drugs, and lower the amount of good citizens that are sitting in jail cells at this moment wasting OUR tax dollars.
This is my belief, and I will continue to support it. This young generation has seen how nondistructive marijuana is, and the grief alcohol creates, so either way if you open your eyes or shut them, the 800lb gorilla is still sitting in this room, and I believe it's time, with the amount of debt our country is in, to stop restricting what we could produce and become what we once were, a powerful country that exports more than it imports. It used to be because of tobacco, why not marijuana?
Thats one of the top three things that will get you busted as a dope dealer. Seems like Phil needs to quit watching T.V. and get out into the real world. I have retired long ago and am not looking for a business. A very wise man told me life begins when you are finished making a living.
But before anyone calls Jimmy I would first try to see if someone is already selling dope in Pike County. If so Jimmy will not need to review (revue?) your plan. That means he already has one.
Even low doses of marijuana affect your concentration and perception and delay your coordination and reaction time. It also causes difficulty to judge distance and reaction times to signals and sounds.
Marijuana is second to alcohol in the leading causes of car crashes.
33% of all DUI's is due to marijuana.
Marijuana and alcohol combined can increase your BAC level three times.
Data shows people who smoke weed lack the same coordination as drunk drivers.
Health
In 2005 215,666 emergency room visits were caused by marijuana.
Doctor's have found evidence that marijuana changes the brain similar to cocaine, heroin, and alcohol.
Marijuana is linked to increased anxiety, panic attacks, suicide, and depression.
Marijuana has the same cancer causing chemicals as tabacco.
Figures both FBT and Tolley would support something so destructive. And they both claim they know whats wrong with America? They remain clueless as usual.
This is what we need to educate people on. Especialy children. And due to my many years of "marijuana college" I can vouch for all this information first hand. These aren't opinions they are facts. And they are not even half of the negative effects caused by this drug.
*Hemp has been grown for at least the last 12,000 years for fiber (textiles and paper) and food. It has been effectively prohibited in the United States since the 1950s.
*George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper.
*When US sources of "Manila hemp" (not true hemp) was cut off by the Japanese in WWII, the US Army and US Department of Agriculture promoted the "Hemp for Victory" campaign to grow hemp in the US.
*Because of its importance for sails (the word "canvass" is rooted in "cannabis") and rope for ships, hemp was a required crop in the American colonies.
INDUSTRY FACTS
*Henry Ford experimented with hemp to build car bodies. He wanted to build and fuel cars from farm products.
*BMW is experimenting with hemp materials in automobiles as part of an effort to make cars more recyclable.
*Much of the bird seed sold in the US has hemp seed (it's sterilized before importation), the hulls of which contain about 25% protein.
*Hemp oil once greased machines. Most paints, resins, shellacs, and varnishes used to be made out of linseed (from flax) and hemp oils.
*Rudolph Diesel designed his engine to run on hemp oil.
*Kimberly Clark (on the Fortune 500) has a mill in France which produces hemp paper preferred for bibles because it lasts a very long time and doesn't yellow.
*Construction products such as medium density fiber board, oriented strand board, and even beams, studs and posts could be made out of hemp. Because of hemp's long fibers, the products will be stronger and/or lighter than those made from wood.
*The products that can be made from hemp number over 25,000.
SCIENTIFIC FACTS
*Industrial hemp and marijuana are both classified by taxonomists as Cannabis sativa, a species with hundreds of varieties. C. sativa is a member of the mulberry family. Industrial hemp is bred to maximize fiber, seed and/or oil, while marijuana varieties seek to maximize THC (delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana).
*While industrial hemp and marijuana may look somewhat alike to an untrained eye, an easily trained eye can easily distinguish the difference.
*Industrial hemp has a THC content of between 0.05 and 1%. Marijuana has a THC content of 3% to 20%. To receive a standard psychoactive dose would require a person to power-smoke 10-12 hemp cigarettes over an extremely short period of time. The large volume and high temperature of vapor, gas and smoke would be almost impossible for a person to withstand.
*If hemp does pollinate any nearby marijuana, genetically, the result will always be lower-THC marijuana, not higher-THC hemp. If hemp is grown outdoors, marijuana will not be grown close by to avoid producing lower-grade marijuana.
*Hemp fibers are longer, stronger, more absorbent and more mildew-resistant than cotton.
*Fabrics made of at least one-half hemp block the sun's UV rays more effectively than other fabrics.
*Many of the varieties of hemp that were grown in North America have been lost. Seed banks weren't maintained. New genetic breeding will be necessary using both foreign and domestic "ditchweed," strains of hemp that went feral after cultivation ended. Various state national guard units often spend their weekends trying to eradicate this hemp, in the mistaken belief they are helping stop drug use.
*A 1938 Popular Mechanics described hemp as a "New Billion Dollar Crop." That's back when a billion was real money.
*Hemp can be made in to a variety of fabrics, including linen quality.
LEGAL FACTS
*The US Drug Enforcement Agency classifies all C. sativa varieties as "marijuana." While it is theoretically possible to get permission from the government to grow hemp, DEA would require that the field be secured by fence, razor wire, dogs, guards, and lights, making it cost-prohibitive.
*The US State Department must certify each year that a foreign nation is cooperating in the war on drugs. The European Union subsidizes its farmers to grow industrial hemp. Those nations are not on this list, because the State Department can tell the difference between hemp and marijuana.
*Hemp was grown commercially (with increasing governmental interference) in the United States until the 1950s. It was doomed by the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, which placed an extremely high tax on marijuana and made it effectively impossible to grow industrial hemp. While Congress expressly expected the continued production of industrial hemp, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics lumped industrial hemp with marijuana, as it's successor the US Drug Enforcement Administration, does to this day.
*Over 30 industrialized democracies do distinguish hemp from marijuana. International treaties regarding marijuana make an exception for industrial hemp.
*Canada now again allows the growing of hemp.
ECOLOGY FACTS
* Hemp growers can not hide marijuana plants in their fields. Marijuana is grown widely spaced to maximize leaves. Hemp is grown in tightly-spaced rows to maximize stalk and is usually harvested before it goes to seed.
*Hemp can be made into fine quality paper. The long fibers in hemp allow such paper to be recycled several times more than wood-based paper.
*Because of its low lignin content, hemp can be pulped using less chemicals than with wood. Its natural brightness can obviate the need to use chlorine bleach, which means no extremely toxic dioxin being dumped into streams. A kinder and gentler chemistry using hydrogen peroxide rather than chlorine dixoide is possible with hemp fibers.
*Hemp grows well in a variety of climates and soil types. It is naturally resistant to most pests, precluding the need for pesticides. It grows tightly spaced, out-competing any weeds, so herbicides are not necessary. It also leaves a weed-free field for a following crop.
*Hemp can displace cotton which is usually grown with massive amounts of chemicals harmful to people and the environment. 50% of all the world's pesticides are sprayed on cotton.
*Hemp can displace wood fiber and save forests for watershed, wildlife habitat, recreation and oxygen production, carbon sequestration (reduces global warming), and other values.
*Hemp can yield 3-8 dry tons of fiber per acre. This is four times what an average forest can yield.
HEALTH FACTS
*If one tried to ingest enough industrial hemp to get 'a buzz', it would be the equivalent of taking 2-3 doses of a high-fiber laxative.
*At a volume level of 81%, hemp oil is the richest known source of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (the "good" fats). It's quite high in some essential amino acids, including gamma linoleic acid (GLA), a very rare nutrient also found in mother's milk.
*While the original "gruel" was made of hemp seed meal, hemp oil and seed can be made into tasty and nutritional products.
"Wildwood Weed"
The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm
And we never knowed what it was called
Some said it was a flower and some said it was weed
I didn't gave it much thought...
One day I was out there talking to my brother
Reached down for a weed to chew on
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry
And then everything was gone
I Didn't know what happened
But I knew it beat the hell out of sniffin' burlap
I come to and my brother was there
And he said, 'What's wrong with your eyes?'
I said, 'I don't know, I was chewing on a weed'
He said, 'Let me give it a try'
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night
Trying to find my brother, Bill
Caught up with him 'bout six o'clock the next mornin'
Naked, swinging on the windmill
He said he flew up there
I had to fly up and get him down
He was about half crazy
The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds
And put 'em in the sun to dry
Then we mashed 'em up and we cleaned 'em all
And put 'em in the corncob pipe
Smokin' them wildwood flowers got to be a habit
We didn't see no harm
We thought it was kind of handy
Take a trip and never leave the farm
A big ol' puff on the wildwood weed
Next thing you know
We's just wandering behind the little animals
All good things gotta come to an end
And it's the same with the wildwood weed
One day this feller from Washington come by
And he spied us and he turned white as a sheet
And he dug and he burned
And he burned and he dug
And he killed all our cute little weeds
Then he drove away
We just smiled and waved
Sittin' there on that sack of seeds
4ckuz
Y'all come back now, ya hear
