This photo was taken in the early 1900s. The current courthouse was completed in 1895 for $18,000. Find other photos and interesting tidbits about our county in Images of America: Pike County, available at the newspaper office on the courthouse square or arcadiapublishing.com.

I hope yall have as much fun with this as the people are on the barnesville memories page. It is VERY addictive and people can't get away from it! It is really wonderful.

Well Kids, this one goes way back! Who remembers the school house in Hollonville?
That's where I got my start. I had the most precious teacher, Miss Faye Pilkenton, in the first grade. We had grades 1,2,and 3 in one room and 4,5,and6 in another. The lunch room was next to my room. My favorite meal was the big pot of vegetable soup, cornbread, and milk.
Oh, there is so much more!!!Thankyou.Lord for these memories. Yes, we could pray and pledge the flag and get a switching if we misbehaved!!!

Times have really changed. Join us today at the old railroad tracks through Zebulon, the old depot. Bar b que $8 a plate. We are easy to fine.
