Rachael, this is a delightful book and I am so proud of your efforts. How someone with two beautiful small children pulled it off is beyond me. This book is a gift to those of us who recall some of the places and faces from long ago. Thank you so much for putting this together and I wish you much success with it.
My wife and I have only lived in pike for two years but us and our frisbee dogs love it here. I look forward to learning more about the history of pike county. I wish I could learn more about are specific area also West Road between Hollonville rd and bottoms road also. Lots of broken pieces of old glass we find on our small piece of property. I read somewhere many years ago someone named Evans Williams owned a lot of the property in the area along with a Mr bottoms.
Next week we plan to go buy this book.
I ordered this book from Japan, and I've just received it today. I am now enjoying reading it. This is such a delightful book. I used to live in Statesboro, GA about for 6 years, and now I feel that I wish I really should have visited the county when I was there. Rachel McDaniel is such a great author. I really respect and am proud of her as well as her efforts. I will share this book with my family members and friends here in Japan.
