Pike County’s high school marching band will be one of only 20 high school bands nationwide to perform in New York City’s Veteran’s Day Parade down Fifth Avenue in November. The band will also play in Times Square for a 10th anniversary tribute to the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The more than 50 band members are attempting to raise $500 per student for the trip.
The upcoming 8th graders at the Middle school are also in the marching band and will be attending the New York event in November. They are working just as hard at the high school students. In some cases, maybe even more so because they have never been in marching band before and will be beginning band for the first year and then planning a huge trip like this... Lets give these students credit too please.
Really? Forgotten Students? I don't think they were forgotten at all the Marching Band is the Marching Band for the High School and that is all it says is "High School Marching Band" nothing about individual students. I think this is being just a bit uber sensitive.

The upcoming 8th graders did not contribute to getting the “high school marching band” to NY so no they really shouldn’t be credited for if you would want to be technical about it.
