A recent groundbreaking took place for a 14,000-square-foot expansion of the TenCate Protective Fabrics plant in Zebulon. The $3 million dollar project is projected to increase efficiency and create six new positions for the company as the installation of new equipment will require trained workers to operate the machinery. Carolyn Patricia Leonard Bell was born May 24, 1934 in Chatsworth, Georgia and died on February 25, 2017 in Thomaston, Georgia. She was one of eight children of Ike and Kate Leonard. She graduated from Murray County High School and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she met her husband Julius Edward Bell of Moultrie, Georgia. They moved to Thomaston, Georgia in 1958 to begin their life together. [Full story »]

Tyler Landry has been released from day rehab and will return to school Feb. 27. Everyone who has supported him during the weeks since a life-threatening four-wheeler accident is invited to the courthouse square at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 to see how he is doing.

Mr. George Edward Bottoms, Jr., age 67, of Concord, passed away February 20, 2017, at his home. He was born in Griffin, son of the late George Edward Bottoms, Sr. and Anna Frances Stiles Eppinger. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Edward was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, the Pike County Tractor Club, and the GA International Harvester Collectors Club Chapter #29. He owned and operated Bottoms Nursery for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and talking to a multitude of friends. [Full story »]
