During the evening hours of December 29, 2014, Griffin Police Department Investigator Lt. Tony Thomason made contact with murder suspect Cornelius Henderson. Henderson was wanted for the murder of Demarkis Williams on Nov. 24, 2014 in the 1100 block of W. College St. Ext., in Griffin. [Full story »]

A Pike County employee and his family lost their home and everything they owned after a house fire Dec. 23. Members of the Pike County community stepped up to help the family after the tragedy. They provided Christmas toys for two kids who didn’t think Santa would be able to visit them since they no longer had a home. [Full story »]

The Dec. 16 meeting of Concord council opened with comments from acting mayor John Strickland about questionable activities of elected mayor Jim Roberts, who was also present.
