Former Pike County Pirates football player Andrew Chau is a red shirt freshman at Georgia Tech this season. Chau is a 2010 graduate of Pike County High School and kicker/punter in his four years at Pike. He is credited with the longest field goal kick in Pike football history with a 52 yard kick in 2008. The Pike County Pirates football team had an open week last week and it could not have come at a better time to be ready for number one ranked Peach County Friday night. Friday's game will be Senior Night. All seniors will be honored before the game. Also on this night fans are asked to wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness. [Full story »]

The CrossPointe Cavaliers won Friday night 66-22, defeating Life Christian Academy, a region opponent from Albany. The Life Warriors came out throwing the ball and were intercepted twice on their first three plays from the line of scrimmage by CJ Norwood and Ethan Blount. [Full story »]

Softball team aims for fifth straight region championship

The Pike County softball team has high expectations for finishing up the 2012 season. The Lady Pirates have battled with injuries and a tough schedule for a 12-10-1 record and are 6-0 in region play. They had home field advantage Oct. 1 for the region tournament as they aimed for their fifth consecutive region championship. [Full story »]
