The Pike County Middle School wrestling team finished 9-1 on the season with the only loss coming in the first match against Henderson Middle School. The team went on to win the regional championship held at Crawford County Middle School Jan. 13. [Full story »]

Freshmen Fanta win Power Puff games

The Pike County High School Travel Club recently hosted Powder Puff football game night, with 133 high school girls taking part. For the first time, the senior team, the Senior Sundrops was unable to maintain its championship run. The freshmen girls’ team, the Freshmen Fanta, pulled off an upset in the championship finale. Though its too late for Tech fans, who saw their Jackets lose to an unranked 7-5 Utah team in overtime in the Sun Bowl and Auburn fans, who saw their War Eagle Tiger Plainsmen beat a 7-5 Virginia team that lost to Tech during the regular season 42-23 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, its time to talk smack about the remaining bowl schedule.
