Early voting for an Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax to fund local school improvements is underway at the courthouse through Nov. 4. Election day is Nov. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The one percent sales tax, or E-SPLOST, will be collected for about five years if the referendum passes. The tax can be used to pay for capital projects or pay debt, but cannot be used to pay operating expenses, such as salaries.
