Magistrate Judge Marcia Callaway-Ingram filed a lawsuit against Pike County, county manager Bill Sawyer and all five commissioners Aug. 1 claiming recent personnel and salary reductions violate the Georgia Constitution. The lawsuit also claims the county interfered with the independent operation of the court by withholding applications for vacancies. [Full story »]

Pirate Regiment raises funds for historic trip

Pike County middle and high school students took part in a 12-hour band camp last week but that was just the beginning of their hard work. The PCHS Pirate Regiment Band was the only band from Georgia selected to play in New York City’s annual Veterans Day Parade in November and they must raise the funds for the trip. [Full story »]
