The Pike County Pirates open the 2011 football season and the Brad Webber era tonight in Fayette County when they battle the McIntosh Chiefs. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

The Pirates will go head to head with the Chiefs of McIntosh for the second consecutive season this Friday in Peachtree City. The Pirates won last season 10-6. Pike is coming off a 5-5 season in 2010. Injuries plagued the Pirates midway through last season and lost the last five games after going 5-0 in the first half. [Full story »]

We are in jeopardy of losing an Under-12 Boys team because it needs more players and a coach. The team needs at least 2 additional players, but 3 more would be even better!

Last Friday the Pirates hosted the Spalding Jaguars for a preseason scrimmage. The stands were packed with fans even though the weather was hot and steamy.
