The 7/8 Pike County All Star team placed second in the state tournament and will represent Georgia in the Dixie Youth World Series in Florence, S.C., this week. The state’s double elimination tournament began with 10 teams and ended with Pike County Black and Duluth in the championship game. [Full story »]

Football season is on its way to Pike County. This year the Pike County recreation complex will host a new football program called the Southern Recreation Football Conference. In this new program, local teams will go head to head with their rivals in Lamar and new rivals in Peachtree City, Brooks and at Landmark Christian Academy. [Full story »]

Middle school cheerleaders attended Cheer Camp at Columbus State University June 16-18. During camp, the team learned several cheers and dance routines and practiced them to compete in the camp competition. The PCMS team took home the first place trophy in every category: home pompom routine, extreme dance routine and camp cheer. [Full story »]
