§15-11-96(g): When notice is given pursuant to subsection (e) of this Code section of division (f)(2)(B)(ii), it shall advise such biological father who is not the legal father that he loses all rights to the Child and will not be entitled to object to the termination of his rights to the child unless, within 30 days of receipt of the notice, he files: (1) a petition to legitimate the child pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 19-7-22; and (2) Notice of the filing of the petition to legitimate with the court in which the action under this Code section is pending. §15-11-96(h): If the biological father who is not the legal father does not file a legitimation petition and give notice as required in subsection (g) of this Code section or division (f)(2)(B)(ii) of this Code section or, if after the filing of the petition he fails to prosecute it to final judgment, he loses all rights to the child and the court shall enter an order terminating all such father’s rights to the chid and such father may not thereafter object to the termination of his rights to the child.

Archery team right on target
The Pike County archery team came home with team and individual honors from the State 4-H archery outdoor match held May 14 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton. Pike had three cloverleaf compound teams, two cloverleaf recurve individuals, two junior compound teams, one junior recurve team, one senior compound team and one senior recurve individual. The teams consists of three to four archers and all archers compete individually.

School to save $224,920 with cuts
Board of education members voted June 14 to approve the fiscal year 2012 budget with a custodial contract that cuts 23 local employees, saving the school $224,920. Two board members, Fred Blackmon and Roger Green, opposed the decision but the budget was approved by a 4-2 vote. The school’s general fund budget calls for revenues of $22,011,621 with expenditures of $21,911,621 and $100,000 allocated to the reserve fund.

12 ounces frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed
2 (6-ounce) reduced-fat graham cracker crusts
20 teaspoons fat-free chocolate sundae syrup

Combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, and cream cheese in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add milk; beat until combined. Fold in whipped topping. Budget hearing gets heated
A public hearing to discuss the proposed Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget became heated Wednesday, June 8 as department heads and elected officials discussed the $865,298 cuts made by commis- sioners and additional proposed cuts to Magistrate court suggested by commissioner Carol Bass.

Graduation testing to end
Of the 236 Pike students taking the full four Georgia High School Graduation Tests, 75% passed it on the first try. They have four more opportunities to take it while enrolled in school. Graduation testing will be phased out during the 2011-12 school year.
