Between Tuesday, Jan. 18, and Saturday, Jan. 22, the sheriff’s office made the following arrests:
Rebecca Lois Bennett, burglary;
James Richard Brown, DUI and obscured tag;
Deanne Marie Clem, no registration, no seatbelt and open container;
Kenneth Lee Coursey Jr., DUI habitual violator, open container, violation of a limited permit and ignition interlock violation;
Dwight Shaw Davis, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, manufacture of marijuana, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;
David Lee Frasier, probation violation;
Anna Marie Grizzle, warrants pending;
Darious Andre Holmes, giving false name and date of birth;
Shannon Nicole Howell, possession of methamphetamine, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of a substance to manufacture a controlled substance;
Royce Cornelis Knight, driving while license suspended;

The Pike County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit concluded an investigation Jan. 21 that resulted in the arrest of Dwight Shaw Davis, 54, of Concord. Davis was found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana at his residence on Turner Road. [Full story »]

Sheriff’s officials are warning citizens of a Canadian check scam that has been reported in the area. Spalding County Sheriff Dee Stewart is warning everyone who receives any mail from Canada that contains a letter and check from Sun Life Trust or Sun Life Financial Trust that it is part of a scam.
