The Pike County Pirates trailed throughout the game against Callaway until late in the third quarter. They rallied with some good offense and rebounded in key possessions to pull ahead. By the time of the final buzzer the Pirates pulled off a 70-66 win in their final region game.

Members of the Pike County Touchdown Club are trying to raise $1,000 before March to sod a field at the middle school. The group has already raised $5,000 for the project to provide a practice field for middle school football players and a usable field for physical education classes and other athletic teams.

The middle school Lady Pirates played for a spot in the middle school championship Friday, Feb. 5, against the Lamar County Lady Trojans. The Lady Pirates led the entire game, winning 46-39 and will play the championship game at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Forsyth at Hubbard Middle School.
