A convenience store in Concord was robbed Sunday, Dec. 27 at around 11:15 a.m., according to the Pike County sheriff's office. Deputies responded to a report a male suspect entered Alan's Stop and Shop brandishing a rifle at the clerk and demanding money.
On Wednesday, Dec. 30, Pike County Sheriff's deputies worked with Griffin police and Spalding County sheriff's deputies to arrest the suspect, Anthony Lamar Burden, at the Scottish Inn in Spalding County. According to reports, Burden was arrested without incident at around 1:21 p.m. and transported to the Pike County Sheriff's Office.

Georgia State Patrol Post 26 in Thomaston investigated no traffic crashes in November in Pike County. Troopers issued 113 citations including 53 speeding, 29 seat belt violations and four child restraint violations. They issued 133 warnings.

Meth lab taken down; suspects named
Pike deputies - including a SWAT team, volunteer firefighters, agents of the Narcotics Task Force (NTF) and a hazardous materials team were on the scene of a working meth lab at 819 Reid Road Monday night. Three men arrested at the scene were identified Tuesday morning and one of the three had 29 prior arrests

Lamar hit and run driver sought
A man was struck by a hit and run driver at 597 Piedmont Road Wednesday night at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Sheriff's deputies are searching for the assailant who is driving a 1987-1991 Ford F-150. The vehicle is thought to be a light color with primer spots. The truck will show damage on the passenger side from the door to the taillight. It will, however, be missing the taillight as it was damaged in the wreck and left on scene.
