Georgia commissioner of agriculture Tommy Irvin granted a special 24-hour permit waiving routine identification and other health requirements for nine flying reindeer slated to visit Georgia the evening of Dec. 24 and the early morning hours of Dec. 25.
The application was filed last week by a North Pole toy maker who signed the paperwork Kris Kringle. Reindeer named on the permit are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen and Rudolph.
