Thirty paper bags packed with canned goods, dry goods, bread and other foods were distributed at the grand opening of the New Pleasant Community Development Corporation. The building on Old Meansville Road in Zebulon has been set up as a food bank and a clothing distributor but the nonprofit group hopes it will offer much more to the community.
Fbt is gonna have a fit when he hears about this! With all the jobs he and his ideas have created for the citizens of Pike he does not understand why this is necessary. Betcha he thinks O'bama is behind this too!
I see your point. From what you say the government using your money to help others is taking food out of your families mouth. If it gets real hard for you they have opened up a new outreach center on Old Meansville road. They will help you until times get better for you. I am not rich by far but consider my self blessed with more then I every expected in life. Guess that is why I have no problem helping the needy. Plus I have personally known families in needy situations. They did not drink or abuse drugs. They searched hard for work and could find little. And they were willing to do anything for any amount of money. But call it bad luck, lack of education, or a bad geographical location, it just wasnt working. But if they did not get government assistance they would probably have little choice but to start robbing, stealing, and committing violent crimes just for survival. This is how the government and the educated see it. But they do not say probably. From history they know it to be a fact. I feel a lot safer being in this world then the one you want to create. You need to quit thinking about yourself and start looking at the whole picture. As for Jesus and the Sabbath I do not have to tell you anything. Read it for yourself its in there.
you need to read the article in the opinions section. it contains a lot of information that might help you understand how the world really works not how liberals and socialists think it should work.
"Further, the entitlement relationship, which is between an impersonal government and a citizen, does not substitute for the bond that can emerge between a charitable distributor and a beneficiary. The former is a right, while the latter relationships can elicit gratitude from the recipient -- an entirely different emotion."
when people think they have a right to be helped their attitude never changes and they are stuck on assistance their entire lives. when someone helps them voluntarily they have a sense of obligation that makes them desire to better themselves so that they can someday help others.
if you would actually read something in that Bible of yours and understand it instead of just spouting rhetoric, you would even see the Biblical basis for what this economist is saying.
"When people think they have a right to be helped their attitude never changes and they are stuck on assistance their whole life" says FBT. I wish I could agree with that but I know far too many people who have been helped and have become productive members in society. I have also seen tragedy hit families that caused them to seek assistance. I am just glad the majority of the world doesnt think like you. A lot of people would sure suffer in the world you dream of. I have read enough of your blogs to know you are not stupid. But you sure say some stupid things. Again this shows how narrow minded you are. But I believe it is more ignorance than stupidity.
In the Baptist Bible belt? I have to get these self proclaimed Christians to stop molesting children before I can even get them to even look at the 10 Commandments. I didnt realize how far gone they are. Now I understand why they buck so hard when it comes to the 10 Commandments. They sick FBT, they sick!
