The Lady Pirates softball team traveled to Columbus to take part in the Elite Eight AA state playoffs Thursday, Oct. 28. Their first game was with a team they knew well, Union County. In 2009, the Lady Pirates were eliminated by Union in the first round. Game one of the Elite Eight continued from 2009 as Union shut down the Lady Pirates 4-0.
Jamie Daniels winds up for a pitch. She struck out 13 batters in game two against Jeff Davis Co.
Lady Pirates place 5th in state

Great job girls!! Pike co. has always had great talent in girls softball but Will never get credit they deserve...Sorry guys Football will take second behind these girls and Always will!!!
