Murder suspect commits suicide after Zebulon traffic stop

A man wanted for murder in Cobb County shot himself with a rifle after being pulled over in downtown Zebulon this afternoon. The man, identified as 43-year-old Randall Keith Fisher, subsequently died at a Griffin hospital from the self-inflicted wound.

This man has saved us taxpayers a lot of money by taking his own life instead of having us pay for his public defenders and court costs during his murder trial and then the cost of housing him for the rest of his life.

People making comments should realize that although this man commited a murder, he does still have family and friends in the area who would be hurt by their comments. I realize he was very wrong, and should have been punished, but hurting his loved ones does no good.

I had an Uncle who I, along with family and friends dearly loved, and due to an individual's "rage of anger" violently murded him, thus taking him away from our family FOREVER. I watched my Mother suffer through this for years! Because this idiot became angry with my Uncle due to a simple situation that any "normal" individual could have and would have handled in a more appropriate manner, he ended his life right then and there. On account of the fact that he had not "planned" his murder in advance"...he recieved a sentence that allowed him to walk free after serving only 12 years. Quite frankly, (and I know this may offend those "sensitive" individuals out there who have never found themselves grieving over the loss of a close one at the hands of a mentally unstable idiot who should NEVER walk among us), I would have been glad to "flip the switch" on the man who murdered my Mother's brother. So, let the war of words begin! However...REMEMBER THE VICTIMS as you sling your opinions our way. I, along with other's who have lost close family to a senseless murderer, (as Nene put's it) "shall be hurt by your comments". 12 years is NOT enough punishment for someone who has committed murder...regardless of the situation. However, to Ms. Gaylor, I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm Randy's Aunt Judy. My sister is Randy's mother. She loved her baby boy very much. She knew what he had done was wrong but she is in so much pain you cannot imagine unless you have been there. Mr. Bedford's family is hurting also. We need to pray for them.
I've loved Randy since birth. I've prayed with him, saw him cry from the pain in his life. Saw him search for a relationship with God. He was kind always and so gentle. His pretty eyes sparkled and his voice was soft. Something else happened that day that no one will ever know for both are dead.
Can we not pray for one another? Can we not understand that this is a horrible thing that has happened and that God is the final Judge and will do right by all? Please leave this alone and quit causing more pain. All know this was wrong but those of us left behind know a different kind of boy than the small amount of information given in the newspaper. Think of it this way. What if YOUR MOTHER was the one left behind??? Everyone has a Mother who loves them no matter what they do. May God bless you all and may God help us all!

We always hear about how "good" a person is in the news after they have committed some heinous crime.

First of all, everyone does not have a Mother who loves them. I did, my son does, everyone does not. Not unless driving two babies off into a lake and watching them drown is love, too many examples to list. When an event like this happens, there are always two sides. If my son and your son get into an altercation and my son dies, it is cold bloodied murder. If your son dies it is self-defense or justifiable homicide. If anyone thinks that people are going to quit giving opinions, sympathetic and aggressive, crawl back under that rock and find a comfortable position. I do not like to see anyone suffering but my sympathy lies with the victim and their families not the murderer. Just use the same logic that everyone uses when they want to make you feel better: It was God's will, he was a good man and went to Heaven, this too shall pass, he loved you so much, Etc. Meanwhile, ALLEGEDLY, he took two lives and we are real sure he took one. The one you love.

Two lives lost...nobody wins! It is a tragedy on both sides. The victim's family grieves a loss and the killer's family grieves a loss...period. We can not judge anyone for how they cope all we can do is let them be. Justice was served; we can't be angry that it was self served.

Judy, I am very sorry for this crisis in your family. I know it must hurt no matter what side you are on. In this case the victims are the family and friends left behind to pickup the pieces. Do not pay attention to people's very insensitive remarks. They are ignorant and I hope that they will never know the pain that you are going through for if they had that knowledge, someone they loved would have to die. Know that there are people praying for you and your family.

To Comment 11: I, for one have lost a Mother, Sister, Brother, and Nephew to DEATH. I can understand and accept death. I am not afraid of death. I do not understand murder. Do you? Why do you people expose yourself to the torture of these comments? I understand that the loved ones of this Alleged murderer suffer. If you could measure it on a grief meter, I still believe the victim's family goes to a higher level. You can smooth over this issue and burn candles of love all you want, but somehow, in my mind, to always toss God into all these events is so oxymoronic. Why would God allow murder to happen when it is against his own Number 6 rule in his own Top 10?

First off I am sorry for both sides of the family members ( for I recently lost a loved one )....
but on the other hand........

Is it not the devils work when someone kills another human being? Is it also true that those who commit suicide do not go to heaven? I really can't see this the work of God. Can you?

There is to much evil in this world now and not enough chain gangs to prevent the evil from happening. Lets all go back to the days when if you did something wrong you really paid for those crimes!! Back in the day if a family member committed a crime the family was ashamed and did not look for pity from others. They also did not try to justify the crime they did. RIGHT IS RIGHT AND WRONG IS WRONG...............leave it at that people.

This has always amazed me. I hope one of the Christians that has condemned and judged me will answer it. All my life, I have been preached to about the power of The Devil..Lucifer...The Fallen Angel...but he never gets any blame or credit? Maybe it is not Gods' will when a person commits murder, over-doses on drugs, commit suicide etc. Maybe, just maybe, old Lucifer is still around this over-regulated, over-sanitized, murderous, child molesting, greedy, political thieving, hypocritical, animal abusing, etc. world. Do you think? If God gets blamed for everything, good and bad, why can't we all just party down and wait on him to come and get us at The Rapture?

ya know God weighs the hearts of man and knows the motives....Randy was a God fearing man and loved Jesus....he had a servants heart and went out of his way to help others. one thing i do know is that we have all sinned and fallen short of Gods glory. the way i see it is that even when we make mistakes, God forgives...look at King David when he killed a man to get to another woman. he asked God to forgive him and God did. its a matter of the heart and not action. because God wants all of us to come to know Him. and He loves every connection we have with him. i bet you Randy was asking God to forgive him all day when he was running. God is faithful to the ones that love Him. if He forgave Paul (who wrote 3/4 of the new testament in the bible) who killed other christians, i think He forgave Randy. we all fall. if anything hating someone else in Jesus' eyes is just as bad as killing someone. read the book of Matthew. God is the only Judge. He does not want His children separated from Him. by no means, knowing Randy all my life....He loved God, and wanted to get to know Him better, we fail all the time....we kill people in our hearts and minds all the time. how much more so does God see our ways? we need to all ask God to forgive us for being a critic and judge and taking His place for saying these things about both these men. its His job alone to make the final call....not ours.

Polly...first let me tell you I have been enjoying Ms. Tolley's comments on this site for quite a while. I feel obligated to inform you that after spending much time reading comments made by many other individuals, Ms. Tolley is usually the one that makes the most sense. Her thought process is logical, and usually to the point. I enjoy the fact that she not only states what is on her mind, but she does it in a way that indicates she is actually quite intelligent. I suggest you back up a little and research comments she has made earlier regarding this issue...and others on this site. I consider her comments to be interesting, sometimes funny, entertaining, but most importantly...I do not consider them to be comments from one who is insane. I do not always agree with her, however, at least she communicates here in a way that does not include name-calling, mud-slinging, nor does she sound like a small child on a playground who when backed into a corner with the facts resorts to what I would consider "First grade level" name calling such as "INSANE". We have NOT forgotten what took place that started all this...regarding your statement that "two people have lost their lives"...you make it all sound like an accident. One person's life was TAKEN from him, the other elected to "take the easy way out", and not take responsibility for his INSANE actions. Ms. Tolly, please keep your comments coming. First off, I agree with what your saying about it not being an accident, Aviator. I agree 100% that what Mr. Fisher did was wrong. I believe as well that he took the easy way out. I also beleive that he is not in Heaven right now. BUT, I also believe that while he is gone his family is here. I don't believe that everyone (Tolley) has to be so cruel as to hurt his family. Guess what? Randall Fisher is not sitting in front of a computer right now reading your comments. He's gone! But his family probably is. While I agree that Randy was very wrong in what he did, why would anyone with a heart want to say things to hurt his family? They are suffering as well. That is they only point I'm trying to make. So Sheila and Aviator can continue to be rude all they want but I just have a heart and would hate to feel the pain of losing my son.
