The Pike County Pirates rolled into Barnesville with a perfect 5-0 record. They left with a defeat they will look back on for many years to come and wonder how it happened. The game started with a bang as the Pirates scored two quick touchdowns and took a 14-0 lead. Lamar County outscored them 20-3 in the last three and a half quarters for a 20-17 win.

We can't win with 7 at QB. Might has well batten down the hatches and take down the sails boys. We are done. No more Monticellos or Crawford Countys on the schedule.

It was great to see some coward that want even put their real name on a comment about our football team on here this morning. I have all the faith in the world in my son (#7). If you don't have the same faith that's fine, don't show up at any more games, but don't come on this page putting my son down either. You can keep your comments to yourself, while you eat the words you wrote. I thought he did pretty good as a 1st string DB coming off of an injury. That was the first game he even played on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't know, I thought he did OK. Hopefully with a little intensive work this week as the first string QB, he will have more confidence and be able to lead the Pirates to a win.

I say kudos for J-No stepping in and playing the QB position. He could have said no coach, I cant, but he manned up and went in. Winning football games is great, but what is greater is watching these boys learn how to be men. Any real man will tell you that you will never win them all. I think that you are the real loser...

Had income on here and see who was on here talking trash about a kid. I no fotball very well but I am smart enough to know that high school football is played by kids I bet the people talking bad about a kid has never played football. I love people who talk about a kid not being tough and lacks the guts to put his on name keep hiding behind your moms skirt

J-no would much rather Nate be the quarter back, he has enjoyed playing defense, but since that's not gonna happen I sincerly hope Pike County fans rally around my son just like they did Nate. If you were a true fan you would be praying for our team instead of doubting them. Stay home next game no one wants to hear all that negativity, especially me. You can Walken D. Plank by youfself, because no one else is going anywhere.

let me explain something to you about football. people root for their team. if you want everyone that hopes your son fails to stay home, that would just leave pirate fans at the game. i am sure you would like this nanzy panzy environment for your son. But come on man, this is football. just make sure he doesnt ding his wrist on anything before the game. baseball has enough lightweights. i sure as heck hope your son leads the pirates to victory!!!!!

#7 doesnt need a nanzy panzy environment..he stepped up when they needed him the most! He will do his best just like he does in every sport, he gives everything 100% and you can't ask for more. He's going to do a great job.He has a heart for the game which is more than I can say for you! As far as your dinged up wrist comment, why dont you get your facts straight before you start putting down our players! #11 is always an awesome athlete and if you knew anything at all about these two boys you would be eating your words right now. Do you think #11 wanted to have surgery his senior year and miss the rest of the season..NO HE DIDNT!!!!!! But even after the surgery, he's been at practice supporting the team and he WILL be on the sidelines! I think you SUCK for talking about any of these kids....why dont you put your name on here since you are so big and bad and ready to talk about somebody. Keep your $7 and stay at home this week!

Fine Fan you are. #7 has been in the system long enough to manage the game and our running game will be the same. Our depth is hurt at QB yes and there will be some changes sure, but to go on here and give up and call out a 17 year old kid who will start Friday is a shame. The defense played well last week and will be needed to hold serve this week.

I believe Pike can win with #7 at qb as long as he has #4 running behind him. Put your best players on the field Pike, that's what Lamar did.

Thanks to all the readers for the prayers and encouraging words for my son. Needless to say it's a tough blow. Senior year, and those that know, know how hard of a journey it was for him to get here, the silver lining is that he should be back close 100% by baseball season and he still has offers to play college baseball. He will also miss basketball. Just to clear up one thing, it was not a cheap hit, it was a busted play and he planted his foot to cut and run when he was tackled and rolled over his leg. It happens, he's played three sports for the last four years of school and there's always a risk. To me that's what makes all the student athletes so special.
Lastly, I want to address the ignorant comment above. J'No(#7)is the QB,not only is he a great kid, he's also a very good athlete, he has size and speed and will lead Pike to the playoffs. We need to get behind him and the team. Two important seniors won't be playing the rest of the year but you can bet they will still be leading this team.

I also want to wish Nate a speedy recovery. My son has learned a lot from him this year about a great number of things not all including football. He is a great example for the boys and I am thankful he did share what he knew with the younger QB's and other players.

We will rally behind him. Crazy what some folks put on these links. I may be wrong but that was his first snaps this year, seems like they used the younger qb's in the blow out plus he was hurt too. I think he will do fine and he has the best arm out of the group of QB's they have in the system

I think we are going to be just fine. #7 brings some attributes that Nate did not have, nothing wrong with Nate just different athletes bringing different strengths. Go Pirates!!!!!

With some luck, Pike will go 2-2 the rest of the way. But 1-3 is more realistic.

JNo is doing just fine! we have faith in him he is doing his very best. im pretty sure all you up there being rude towards him have no room to talk because im pretty sure that has a lot of stress on him . im pretty sure he would much rather nate be doing it but he has no choice he stepped up with a good attitude. dont hate he is doing better than you ever could!
