There will be a star spangled Fourth of July in Pike County this year. The recreation board has agreed to host the annual event and the fireworks are on.

I still think a yard sale would be a great way to raise some money and people only have to go thru things they don't use anymore. Let me know if you would like to donate things to help out in the cause and we will start planning.
It's so "hartwarming" that Pike County residents care so much for the 20 minutes of fireworks on the 4th. Too bad they don't have the same care for abandoned and mistreated animals.
Okay, What happens to the $12,000 dollars the commissioners budgeted for fireworks (last weeks article 'Fireworks not dead yet'? The Chamber of Commerce better not recieve it. thanks,
Pike is the only county that I know of that charges for parking so you can watch the fire works. I will go to Griffin again where it is free and a good show too.
Quit whinning about paying to park. The money goes to a good cause. Whether it is to pay for the fire works or going to the rec. department, who I appreciate them taking on the task of the fire works display this year. Many thanks to them and if you want to go to griffin this year, take off.
A list of alternate words for anonymous follow; Just in case there is more than one of you....Or maybe you really are Sybil. If so Hi guys and dolls???? Jane/John Doe, X*, bearding, incognito, innominate, nameless, pseudo, pseudonymous, secret, so and so, such and such, unacknowledged, unattested, unavowed, unclaimed, uncredited, undesignated, undisclosed, unidentified, unnamed, unsigned, unspecified, what's his/her name, whatchamacallit, whatsis, you know who
Sheila has given these names freely and generously.
I'll stick with the one I've been using all along, but I find it kind of Sheila to do this for the folks who can't come up with a better name.
And she's not being an idiot, she's making a generous offer.
Just be sure to let us know via this particular thread, should you choose to appropriate one of these names. It would be polite to let everyone know that one of the names has now found an owner.
Thank you, Sheila! :)
Hi Anonymous,
Sybil is a pseudonym used as a movie title for the biography of a real lady named Shirley Mason. She had multiple personality disorder. She had sixteen confirmed personalities. Unlike you, all of hers had a name. Not an Anonymous in the bunch. As you Google to find the definition of pseudonym, check out her true story. Borrow a name. Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in the words "eleven plus two" it spells "twelve plus one." I am an idiot, but a fun loving one.

GOD BLESS THE USA
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

The United States is the only country with a known birthday. I Applaud the recreation board for the chance to come to the birthday celebration!
