The Pirates play McIntosh tonight in the first game of the season.

6:28 2nd quarter. Pirates 7, Chiefs 0. Tommy Smith 1 yard rush for TD. PAT good.

Halftime.

5:38 3rd quarter. Pirates 10, Chiefs 0. 43-yard fieldgoal by Andrew Chau.

4:40 4th quarter. Pirates 10, Chiefs 6. 19-yard TD reception. PAT blocked.

Final: Pike 10 McIntosh 6.

Meanwhile, there are multiple anecdotal and social media reports that a shooting occurred after the Griffin-Spalding Co. game in Griffin. Those reports have not been confirmed.

Interesting night to say the least. Pike defense only gives up one score, whens the last time thats happened? Good job D! Once the offense gets rolling and cuts out the penalties, fumbles, and dropped passes, who knows, could be a special year.

Did anyone notice the band? Our band is the best!!! They worked hard rehearsing in 100 + degree heat to look good for our school and to be supportive of our football team. Great show guys!
