You had to figure they'd build a monument to 9-11 at Ground Zero eventually.

You probably didn't think it would be a monument to the terrorists, though.

I think the mosque is a perfect way to tell the world we are not as ignorant previously believed. We do not believe all Muslims are terrorists in the same way that not all Christians are terrorists.

you people are crazy to support this. What if someone killed your CHILD or other family member and others wanted to put up a monument, memorial, etc to idolize the person that KILLED YOUR CHILD?? Would you still AGREE with this??!!

Im sure there are Christian Churches near the Oklahoma City Federal Building site. Timothy McVeigh was Christian. Those survivors should be outraged also.

Its all about interpretation and context. I know about the history of Islam..not that different Judaism and Christianity. The Bible has been used to justify hatred and murder in the name of God and/or Jesus for centuries. People proof-text the Bible and Quran and use verses taken out of historical context to justify their hatred.
Read a few more posts on this blog and tell me that our Christian culture lives up to Christs teachings.

I cannot name many people who would give money ahead of taking it(three, me inclusive)..but I am proud to say, "I would write a hot check in a New York minute if I considered a cause to be worthy." If the love of money keeps one out of Heaven, my front seat in Heaven is reserved, right beside my Mama. I agree with you about the Bible. Most Christians become more liberal as time goes by. I remember when long hair, dresses only and no jewelry or make-up were requirements for Christian women. Do you? Tell me about your memories.

I remember 9-11 very well... I watched as people jumped out to their deaths. They quit showing the people jumping but you could hear the thud just the same. It sounded like a bag of cement hitting the ground hard. But it was people making their last decision. How they would die! Others were killed in planes and buildings.

I'm fairly easy going but for erecting a structure for the Muslims. THAT'S A DISGRACE! Their religion tells them to kill as many of us as they can. NO! and that's being real nice. How can we so tolerant as to reward their efforts to destroy us and our country.

Let's erect a monument to Hitler also. It sounds about the same to me. I don't have anything against Jewish people. At least their not trying to kill us. Hitler killed millions of people. The Muslims can't come close to him.

The Mosque will be built and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Support our President Obama, he will seal the oil leak and give our gulf back to us. All must remember the BP rig was constructed during the George Bush presidency. Bush is responsible and where is he now? Spending our money. Pray and support Obama and Michelle during this massive task. Daddy will plug the leak.

Call it "reap what you sew" or "Karma" doesn't matter; all of this being allowed will come back to haunt us. I pray that God will have mercy on us. Some of his people still fear him. We are thankful for your grace and patience Lord. It may not be as violent in our streets now as other places but it is coming. Really watch the news and to see what is going on.
