Local attorney Marcia Calloway-Ingram was appointed as Pike County's Chief Magistrate Judge by Superior Court Judges Christopher Edwards and Tommy Hankinson today. She was selected following interviews with 16 other applicants. She will be sworn in Friday, May 28 at noon in the courthouse courtroom and she will begin work June 1.

Wonderful news for Pike County. Marcia is a true professional, dedicated and the breath of fresh air the Magistrate Office has needed for years. Congratulation Judge Marcia Calloway Ingram and a special THANK YOU to Judge Edwards and Hankinson. Well done.

Yes we finally have someone who cannot be bought....is not of the good ole boy system.... and has more than an 8th grade education!!! She is not afraid to stand up for what is right and just!! And as for the overalls representing someone who works hard....are you kidding? How about doesnt work half the time? Have you ever shown up at the probate office at 4:50? If not dont bother because the doors will be bolted up even though their office hours are till 5:00 pm. Show up some time around 4:45 or 4:50 and you will see what the working in overalls kind of man gets ya!! The "Gone Fishin" sign will be out and you will be out of luck if you had business that you thought you were going to do! Congratulations Marcia! The county could use a few more like you!!

There is a good side to every story. Rakestraw can go back to heading up the Curves Strip Club in Griffin, Prissy can return to her trade as a hairdresser and be certified to do the Brazillian Hair removal, Brandy can get on with her life and wear whatever she wants and have more grand kids for her grand moma.

Better side is the Probate Judge will have to change his sporty tag from PIKE 1 to PIKE 2.

We spent weeks trying to get an estate settled through the probate court. Lynn Brandenburg is never in the office. Even calling before you went was no guarantee he would be in. He'd leave after you called, knowing you were on the way.

The "Gone Fishing" sign is like a slap in the face to a family that has lost a loved one and needs help to settle an estate. No respect.

I've known Marcia and Priscilla most of my life and they are both good people.

I know it is difficult to separate the decisions that Priscilla made from the person if all you know her from is court, but I can tell you about both of these ladies they would never do anything to intentionally inflict harm and both would do their best to make a right and just judgment.

The height of arrogance is a elected official judge running around with a PIKE 1 tag. Even Billy Maddox took his arrogant tag off his truck which read LAW 1. Do not these idiot public officials know we the people elect them?

I grew up with Marcia. Pike could have done far worse. Some of the other people being considered I wouldnt be seen with at a dog fight.(outa state dog fight at that !)
