A very impressive list. I would lean towards Tammy Griner myself, she is a very fair and honest person.

Not that my vote matters, but I'm for Ben Miller of Thomaston and Drew Whalen of Griffin. Both their fathers served honorably on the bench and both are well respected in the field of law. Ben Miller is a true friend of children and has showed his wisdom in dealing with adults who don't do right by their kids. Drew Whalen is an expert in so many areas, especially with government law.

Would jump on the band wagon too soon--some have baggage if they were city, municipal or county attorneys. And, who ever wins will have to run for election in the near future.

I concur with MO. I also knew their fathers well having worked within the system back in the 70s & 80s. Both were men of honor and integrity who served Pike County as well as the entire district with distinction. I was somewhat taken aback by the number of Lawyers included. I know several but the majority I'm not familiar with.I dont think there were half that number total for the entire district during the 70s. Alas my day has come and gone. Ben was solicitor 'back in the day'.Dang if I dont feel old and melancoly.

The only one I know here is Tim Shepherd. He helped me SO MUCH with a case I had years ago. He was wonderful.

I always respected Judge Whalen. He handled an extortion case in Thomaston involving a very prominent business man. I will never forget what he called the guilty parties, before sentencing them to jail. He called them "Maggots to Society..." His son probably has some of his Father's integrity...so I say. "give Drew a chance."

Looks like the list would have been shorter if they just listed those lawyers not in the running. Or would that be the Magistrate list?

some would be good but alot of the candidates are a joke and will not get a second thought and list will narrow.
