At around 3 a.m. Friday morning, a Pike County Sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 19 at Shackleford Road. The driver of a white Ford Mustang pulled over briefly then sped away, according to a press release from the PCSO. The 2003 Ford Mustang was stolen from Spalding County.

Highway 19 is sometimes referred to as Highway 7.

Ok so US Highway 41 is also Georgia Highway 7, and US Highway 19 is also Georgia Highway 3.

It's kind of confusing. U.S. 19/41 splits at the stoplight at Ingles, with 19 going to Zebulon and 41 to Barnesville. Technically, I think, it's U.S. Highway 19 (or U.S. 19/41) and Georgia Highway 7 running concurrently (and I don't know where the Hwy. 7 designation ends).

Ga 7 and US 41 runs between griffin and barnesville and Ga 3 and US 19 runs between griffin and thomaston

US 19 runs between Griffin, Milner and Zebulon and US 19 runs between Zebulon and Thomaston.

Yeah, 19 to Griffin, 41 to Milner and 19 to Zebulon.

19 to Griffin, 41 to Milner, 19 to Zebulon, 16 to Milner, 14 to Milner US 18/41 to Barnesville, US 341 to Barnesville, 341 south to Barnesville, 36 west to Barnesville, 36 east to Barnesville, Interstate 75 to Lamar County, route 65 to Lamar County.

This story kind of gets the juices flowing in my special areas. I like fast cars, chases, explosions and fires. It gets me excited at times.

Thank goodness these people set fire to the car before May 1st. Danny Chief (ex FF from Clayco) would try and fine him so they could collect another unfair fee.

Does anyone know if he let the fire department go extinguish the blaze? You know the chief has a history of not wanting to run calls and I was unsure if it has trickled down to Pike County yet?

Speaking of chief, heard he was turned down for a position in Americus, Ga. Parrish please help him out find him real employment.If he gets his class "B" CDL maybe Willis can let him drive a dump truck. Ain't much different from a large ladder truck, which he has over 22 years driving in Clayco. (right)

It looks like it was burning pretty good there...The news people beat the fire truck? Were they out looking for strays?

I am sure if you ask Danny Chief why the reporter beat the fire department to the scene he would try and impress you with this long dissertation of how the interworking of the fire service is complicated by the vast communications network set up by past administrators and that he is working very diligently on correcting the situation.

Danny Chief ought to leave the strays alone and go look for a real job. The job market is tough, especially if you are working as an apprentice trying to become a chief. There is demand for experience these days and not OJT (on the job training). I spelled that out so some of his junior tee-shirt wearing hero’s knew what it meant.

how many people have to die? how many cars have to burn? how many thieves sacrificed to get johnny caldwell off the opening page of this blog?
