If Jerry Hammond could not work for the county no body can , if we had a whole group in office that was like him, we all would see a big change in our county. the problem is we need to have all out and have a new group go in at the same time.
Carol Bass is part of the BS of Pike County. When she got creamed in District 2, she moved to District 1. Any District or position will do - just get me some power!! What's next if this fails - move to District 3 or 4?
Carol Bass never got creamed in any election. Carol is always there protecting the citizens pocketbooks of Pike with her head held high. She may have lost an election but never backed off from fighting the crooks in office now. She has my respect and vote.
You seem to forget the 2006 election with Parrish Swift. Carol Bass works hard for one person - Carol Bass. She loves the power. She also knows it is better to try to lead in the shadows, so I am surprised to see her asking for another beatdown. Must be totally drunk with power now.
Carol Bass would be the best thing that has happended to Pike County in a long time. She knows more about the budget and the running of the County than the BOC do. She has spent a lot of time and effort in keeping the BOC on their toes which ultimately has saved us, the taxpayers, lots of money.
Lord please bless our district with a candidate that is gainfully employed and has more than a 5th grade education. No more clowns and gavel snatchers. No more taxpayer paid wells and pretty pump houses. Parrish Swift and his brother Roosevelt Willis have to go.
Willis changed from Democrat to Obamacrat party. Willis stuck it to the citizens of Hilltop when he sent his Code Enforcer Danielson out to shake em up.

Better check your bearings on that one. Willis and Danielson divorced after she won her case against him. His brother Parrish Swift was all wrapped up in the middle of that one with Valentine chocolate all over his face. Junior Commissioner Don Collins was the hearing chairman on that one.
I thought Roosevelts ACE in the hole was Sandy Dickerson. Always had a tough time trying to keep up with Roosevelts cronies. Wasn't it Sandy that wore the DOC ankle bracelet for felony bad checks? Need her on the budget committee.
He's (King David) just bluffing. He will get on here in a week and complain that he did not have enough time to qualify because he was out of town for a week when he could have been qualifying the last three months.
Your ignorance is showing, you can only qualify the week that qualification is open. You can qualify as an independant until June and I plan to do that.
Houston will not run. He would have beat Roosevelt Willis last race if JC Morrison and the Pollcat had not endorsed him. Having JC Morrison endorse you is like Obama endorsing a candidate, a certain kiss of death to a political career.
If commissioner Willis loses his seat then who will run the road department? Who will protect all Roosevelts kin that work out there? Who will be there to over rule drug testing? Marro and Roosevelt were a team looking after road peoples. Donts lose the hole road department.
If Roosevelt Willis is a Republican then I have some beach front property I will sell you on Roberts Quarters Road. Easy to locate, right next to the Willis Dump Truck company parked on the right of way.
Those dump trucks are not always there like they use to be. You can spot them daily on Reidsboro pothole road. He has a special permit issued by the county which he voted in favor of for his dump trucks. If they are not there they might be getting serviced at the road department.
Too bad we can't get Nathan Rounds to run. He took on Jeannie Haddock and won. Then she left with her dog and pony show, taking it to Lamar County. Don Collins voted against Nathan, but then Jeannie had done him a favor and he owed her one. Collins has only 2 years left.
Jeannie did not take her dog and pony show with her. Parrish the clown dog and Roosevelt the clown pony are still with us. Collins is satisfied with the huge pooper scooper he follows them around with. Yep, Jeannie left us with the show and NUTTY 1.

Nathan had friends and family on the board of appeal, look at the article in the paper then at the comment he made on the blog he has already changed his story. Also on the same blog, read the post that Anna Mae Gwyn posted she even changed her story. Doug Round and Mrs. Bass had control of all. Mrs. Bass was on the board assessors and she was at the appeal hearing in support of Nathan. And the board of assessors are the ones that make the final decision. A board member needs to be fair to every taxpayer, but she has showed that she is only fair to the people that will help her. Has Ms. Bass resigned from the Board of Assessors yet? Is this legal, to be on the board of assessors and running for public office, or is it ok, just for Mrs. Bass?
Remember Mrs. Bass is the one that sued the county at least twice and she is the main one that was responsible for Tabitha Weaver winning a 100,000 lawsuit against the county.
Doesn't that make your taxes go up?
No word on qualifying but Parrish Swift says JC Morrison agreed to be his campaign manager. I thought JC lived in Rosey Willies district but it does not matter.
It is voters like you that put us in this mess with Roosevelt Willis. Willis is all for Willis. Willis used his power to send in his storm trooperette for revenge against someone in Hill Top that disagreed with him. Our tax dollars to pay a county employee to carry out his revenge.
Ask Carol about her being a budget consultant without official authorization from the Commissioners.

You gotta be kidding. All the commissioners and even the county attorney call Carol all the time asking questions about the budget. Carol is a hard working volunteer, Rob Morton and all the commissioners get paid to do a job they have no clue about. Time to get someone on the BOC with a brain and that would be Carol Bass.
Commissioner Roosevelt Willis has pledged $1,000 from Willis Dump Trucks Inc. to the rec department for the July 3rd Fireworks Show and has ask Patriot JC Morrison to match his donation. No word from JC owner of the news first Pollcat.
Hey Homeowner Patriot JC Morrison, will you match Commissioner Willis pledge or will you stand back and let cake bakers do it for you?
The patriotic fireworks are your show, you got the commissioners to give you $1,000 in taxpayer dollars.
Could I get a dozen TNT's and two dozen cherry bombs to go with that order?
I will support Carol Bass and she doesn't even live in my district. I have full confidence that she will do what's right to the people in her district and the rest of us. I can't wait to see her blow the top off of Don Collins who could care less about anyone in his own district. He needs to move to Zebulon where he spends most of his time anyway and leave district 4. His time is coming and I will learn how to walk thru fire to get him off our BOC.
Once Parrish Swift is defeated will the county start billing him for his free well and insulated pump house the taxpayers paid for? Or will the bill be sent to his mother to pay since Parrish lives with his mother. Can Parrish draw unemployment eventhough being captain of the clown squad was part time and temporary? Will Executive Fire Chief (Lt) Henderson give him a job since Parrish started paying him a volunteer $18,000 + pretty fire chiefs car with bells and a whistle to ride around?

MOVING PIKE FORWARD
Steve Marro is so proud of Parrish.
Perhaps everyone who reads these posts daily, or more than daily, knows this Chunkey well water. I don't and am once again ashamed of the depths that people in Pike County stoop to in the online blog for the Journal Reporter. If you want to take pot shots at Parrish, go for it. I voted for him and will vote for him again. While I hate that he is a commissioner because it brings such attacks as these on him, he wants to see things right for Pike County. What I don't understand is such comments as he lives with his mother. If you really want to know the truth, I wish she did live with him. For our mother, who was born where Parrish lives, has a degenerative neuromuscular disease for which there is no cure, no stopping, or no slowing down. He is the one who steps in and does things for her such as buying her groceries and taking her to appointments because she can no longer do these things for herself. In fact, she right now is housebound until one of us goes to do all these things for her. Her neighbor brings her mail in every day. She, however, refuses at this point to move in with anyone because that will mean giving in to her disease. If you write an editorial to the paper, you cannot voice your opinion without signing your name. But here, under the cloak of a screen name, you can say whatever you want. Say what you feel inclined to say about Parrish, or any other person who is or who wants to be a political figure in this county. I am not sure why you have not qualified to run for something yourself, but then, you would also be in the spotlight. But leave our mother, and any insinuations about her or anyone else in his family, out of this. It is uncalled for. Not only uncalled for, but it is shameful.
Every family has those seniors with problems as you discribe. Parrish Swift should spend more time with her. Parrish is not a hireable person in the job market. Parrish Swift should not be the clown if he is trying to help anyone. Pray that he can help your mother but he has only brought expense, laughter and confusion to the BOC in his present state. Parrish has not represented the citizens of District 2, he only likes to hear himself talk.
Denise if I were his sister I would not claim him. Never put yourself in the same boat with a idiot, family or not. Parrish Swift is not a political figure, he is a lost clown even the circus will not hire. And we pay this clown and give him health insurance for entertainment.
Let's get back to the Teen Challenge fiasco? Can you find out how much the taxpayers spent on the last escape for me? How much tax could Pike be getting on that land? How much are commissioners taking in kickbacks? Oh, I forgot, they are just good ole Christian boys who changed their mind on the issue, right?
You are "ashame of the depths"?? Then get yo brother re-elected, Marro is gone but maybe the new county manager will help Brother Parrish dig the well deeper. Ya'll could call Moody, he has a backhoe.
Forget it Sandy, it is a little late to kiss bottoms now. Go get a industrial strength 55 gal. drum of Chap Stick and share it with Roosevelt and Parrish. Know you don't want to eat crow but your old pardner has started the Bar-B-Que business back up. Lowe's has 20% discount through May 5th.
Will anyone decent please run for commissioner? Willis and Swift both need to go but aren't there quality replacements around who will stand up for the citizens and attempt to make a positive change for the citizens of Pike?
Maybe he is planning ahead. Willis knows Dawn Danielson is going to be the first to slap him with a lawsuit. Maybe Willis is CYA and will offer her a job which she ia already qualified for and Rudy will give her a reference.

No way. There is not the possibility that Willis and Danielson could be in the B-B-Q business together. Vaughn and Danielson renewing their business, maybe. There is a conflict with Willis a commissioner and Danielson a county employee. Never happen.
Budget workshop.
Parrish Swift made the motion to eliminate the position of Code Enforcement.
Tommy Powers made a second.
Roosevelt Willis stated he would not vote in favor for reasons he would not discuss.
Don Collins said he would not vote in favor because he was afraid of a lawsuit.
David Allen was called into the meeting to discuss and then he was excused.
Chairman Doug Mangham showed some backbone and voted in favor of eliminating the position breaking the tie because it was a waste of taxpayer money.
It is about time three commissioners showed support for the taxpayers.

You know, it really makes me wonder how many of the commissioners come on this site and read the comments here. I hope they do, and see that what they want and what many of us want are two very different things.
Willis, I'm looking forward to voting against you.
I saw this skit on Saturday Night Live.....it was funny then too.
PS: Let's cut code enforcement, save some money.
TP: Cool!
RW: Naw, man. I have to keep it on the down low.
DC: I'm still afraid of a lawsuit from TC.
DA: Yawn.....
DM: Done. Dismissed.
I'm like you and I like your comments. I hate reruns. I also like Concord Residents comments. He will vote against Willis, I will vote against Parrish.
With Parrish gone there will be no laughter in the BOC meetings. Maybe someone will take up a collection for him to attnd the meetings as a icebreaker to warm up the crowd. Remember Parrish has not been employed for 6 years now. Help the clown out. Out the door.
If it is true that Parrish Swift moved to abolish code enforcement then that is a plus for him. Parrish will not have a job, Dawn Danielson will not have a job, Roosevelt Willis will not have a job. They can open a B-B-Q joint together. Parrish can supply the water, Rosey can make delivers in his truck, Dawn can do the cooking.

Carol Bass will be for the citizens of Pike County.
I will be working on my independant qualification starting next week.
You are the one making disparaging comments and getting the facts wrong. I was simply pointing it out to you.
Remember Mrs. Bass is the one that sued the county at least twice and she is the main one that was responsible for Tabitha Weaver winning a 100,000 lawsuit against the county.
Doesn't that make your taxes go up?
Have your credit card ready.
Check it out. You can order wedding dresses, tennis shoes, mens underwear, crockpots, football jerseys and fake Mexican Rolex watches on the Pollcat.
