If spring cleaning in your yard has yielded piles of sticks and brush, be sure to call for a burn permit before the end of April. Starting May 1, a burn ban is implemented for 54 Georgia counties including Pike and surrounding counties. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division's Open Burning Ban lasts until Sept. 30 and prohibits the burning of yard debris in addition to the year-round state ban on burning household garbage.

July 4th we are having a bon-fire too.
JC you gotta get more friends. Danny needs to look for a real job and you are giving him the hopes that PC is a real job. Also, you are wrong about the burn ban. If someone burns during this time frame all the PCSO & FD can do is ask them to extinguish it. IF and only if they become repeat offenders they "MAYBE" issued a citation.
Commerical burn violators fall under different guidelines and that is through the EPA. pass the intel to your buddy Danny Chief.
Just because he is like Parrish and can't hold down a real job don't hate him. Many little guys wanna be firemen when they grow up. He is living the dream. Be happy for him. Be happy that chief, the CM and BOC crammed a unlawful fire tax down our throats. We are better off for that. Please go watch Backdraft and Ladder 49 and see how dangerous the job is. Then go blog on a real site that supports real tee-shirt wearing heroes.
