Funding of the Pride of Pike parade and fireworks display was a hot issue at the April 14 commission meeting. Last year the county funded the $12,000 fireworks display. The recreation authority requested $9,000 from the county this year after putting $3,000 of parks and recreation money toward the annual event. Commissioners did not decide the issue but it will be brought up again at the April 27 meeting.

Maybe you can talk to Danny Chief and get him to donate some funds from his and BOC illegal fire fee? Why screw us more by getting the BOC to chip in?
In hard times things have to be cut, that is the way of the world. If you lose your job, you don't go out to eat every meal. It's just the way it is.
People look for the government to do so much and it comes at a price. Thank you BOC, and I don't say that to much.
