Commissioners went into executive session at the April 14 meeting to discuss pending litigation and reconvened to authorize county attorney Rob Morton to seek a declaratory injunction to resolve an issue in magistrate court.

Ask the courts what to do because Rob Morton certainly has no clue.

Rob Morton is the county attorney and was in charge of filing the injunction to find out what is legal in the state of Georgia concerning an appointed associate magistrate if the person who appointed them is terminated. He is not paid on a case-by-case basis. He explained what the injunction meant because I did not understand it and that is why he was quoted.

I think that Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice will haft to appoint the chief magistrate to fill the vacancy to the end of her term 2010.

You are correct.There will be a vote(by the judges)as to who will take this position. Rob Morton doesnt have a say so but can always voice his opinion.

Morton--no need to bill the county taxpayers--all terms end when the term holder is convicted or resigns. You got a free ride from our recently resigned chief tax assessor, why didn't you ask her rat her than billing the county. You folks need a reality show on TV for laughs.

Rob Morton is not an attorney if he does not know the answer to this question. By law the Superior Court Judges of this Judicial Circuit have to appoint someone to finish the term. The Commissioner's have no say so what so ever about who goes in as Magistrate. So for Morton and the Commissioner's go back to milking the public of their hard earned money.

Magistrate appointment? What did they decide? I just got back from freaknic, so I am a little behind. I had one message on my phone that said Wayne (I am a sneaky, underhanded deputy) Woods was in the running. This must be a delayed April Fool's joke.

You definitely need to check your sources. He has never beat Priscilla at anything. I heard he previously lived in Pike. Did he move? Why? Is he planning on moving back? Why? Inquiring minds just want to know.

Anybody except Wayne (I am pinning this murder on somebody) Woods. We never did hear what started this witch hunt, anyway. Does anyone in Readerland know? It took a pretty good nose to sniff $70 out of a three term record of a Magistrate Judge. Just so no copy machine was used on Taxpayer's time or money. The name of that little girl slips my mind....what was her name? It will come back to me later. For sure, we do not need a Lizzy Borden with axes to grind in this position. As of today, it is not a government mandate that I like him. It is going in that direction at a fast pace. But as of this moment, I can like or dislike people as I please in America.
