Burglars target elderly woman

Two Griffin residents have been arrested in connection with the robbery and attack of an elderly woman on Kendrick Road. Charlie House, 27, and Crystal Parker, 28, have been charged with burglary, robbery of a person over 65 years of age and aggravated assault. Bonds for each of the suspects have been set at $45,000.

The victim of the robbery is a 92 year old widow. It is absolutely sickening that any person would do such an awful thing to a defenseless elderly lady. I believe these two should be sent to prison, after they pay her back what they stole from her as well as some compensation for pain and suffering.

It was me that picked her up off the side of the road, so I saw first hand what their actions did to her. The Sherriff's department collected many good finger prints from the cut phone cable, and these two definitely are not employed with the telephone company. I'm just glad the lady is alright, she would never do anything to hurt anybody else, so these two should be punished for the unnecessary grief they caused her.

These two should be charged with attempted murder as well; she could have very well died from the trauma. How can anybody do such a thing to an elderly person? Kudos to the young man who found the dear lady walking down the road trying to find help because these two cut her phone line. He called for help and stayed with her even after the sheriff arrived.

For once i totally agree with you. As a person you have many choices to make in life. It is our choice to either play with drugs and other things or live your life right. There is not anyone on this earth that has not been told that you can get addictived to drugs. people make choices to do drugs , get drunk and drive, beat there children or moleste children. They made this choice there should be no pleas just justice. but that would be to simple.

How do you know what METH does to people? It sounds as it you know first hand of the drug itself. Maybe you should blame it on the struggeling economy.

You must be related to these crackheads or do the same thing they do to blame this on the economy. I understand the economy is terrible but who would do this to such an elderly person, no matter what is going on in our country. That is absolutely no reason to do that to someone, especially of that age. What would you do if it were your own family?

I'm trying to think of a time Jesus spared a criminal that hurt others. At this moment I can't. He didn't snap his fingers or speak a word and get that dying thief off the cross. Jesus told him he would go to Paradise (because the guy was admitting he was a sinner and Jesus forgives) but that certainly doesn't mean you don't pay for your crime. He did tell the men that brought the woman "taken in the ACT of adultery" that he who had no sin could cast the first stone. Could that have been because they LEFT the man back in the bed and under O.T. Law both the man and woman were to be stoned? Most people don't come here for a Bible lesson but you mentioned Jesus first.

I'm glad he did put WWJD on here - it really hit home with me. I think He would look at them, maybe lay his hands on them, and cast out the demon(s). He can see through to their core - unfortunately, we can't. So, we should just drag them up and down the dirt road like the other poster suggested and give Jesus and them some time together, one-on-one, then He can work it out with them. If that's too harsh, at least put them in jail for a long, long time. Oh, and Jesus forgives me for feeling that way. He's loved me for 39 years, he ain't gonna stop now!

I know people that have used meth, I know people who still use meth - meth didn't cause the people I know to rob an elderly woman. These two had problems before they had meth; meth was just an amplifier.

That's actually the worst part, it doesn't appear that they were lucky at all, it states in the article "specifically targeted". That means they probably knew she was old and widowed (thus an easy target). That's not luck, it's working a plan. They wouldn't have done the same to you or I - they have preyed on the weak. Absolutely reprehensible.

Sheriff Thomas; Please, oh please, let these two out of jail so we can tie them up and drag them behind our vehicles up and down Kendrick Road until there's nothing left of them or the road- whichever comes first.
If that were the standard punishment this type of thing would happen a lot less. I guess that falls under "cruel and unusal punishment" so law abiding citizens must live in fear with bolted doors while criminals get little slaps on the wrist and run free.

Please do not let these whatever you want to call them get by with just probation,fine and such. Let that sweet 92 year olds family get them and throw a blanket over them and beat the crap out them.
Kudos to the person that stopped and helped this lady. I hope you will be rewarded for a good deed. We need to recognize the good people that do good things.

The young man who found this dear lady is my teenage son, on his way home from his part-time job. I am very proud of his actions that night, helping someone in need. He got her to safety, called for help, and stayed with her even after the deputies came. How many adults would react so responsibly?

Sheila should have more empathy for these two. She has addiction problems herself. If you don't think so, glance over to the newest comments on the right of the page and see if more than half of them aren't hers.
Try going without your computer for a day, Sheila, and talk to people in person. Then you won't have struggles with tha anonymous ones.
