Auditorium roof fixed, more renovations needed

Pike County school's biggest auditorium has re-opened after a long rainy winter caused roof and water damage inside the building. The school maintenance department coated the roof to temporarily prevent future leaks just in time for Pike Atlas and Christ Chapel's Easter service to be held there.

I think someone should organize a series of events at the auditorium featuring donated time from local and non-local musicians and artists. this would not raise all the money that is needed, but it would be a start.

How about a country/bluegrass show , a rock/jazz show , a gospel/worship show and a Pike County School band / Chorus night ?

WHY IN THE WORLD CANT WE GET A NEW AUDITORIUM FOR PIKE COUNTY? THIS BUILDING IS PATHETIC. WE SPEND ALL OF OUR TAX DOLLARS ON THINGS THAT COULD BE PUT ON THE BACK BURNER, WHY NOT REBUILD THIS ONE. IT HAS BEEN HERE FOR HOW MANY YEARS AND ITS AN EMBARRASMENT TO THE COMMUNITY WHEN WE HAVE FUNCTIONS HERE! WHY DONT WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE ONE LAMAR COUNTY JUST BUILT. HAVE YOU SEEN IT? WOW.

Same reason we can't seem to get the roads fixed in PC. The county commission and BOE over the last several years has wasted money that could have and should have been used for the maintenance of what we already have.

Instead they've been building their own empires.

The Towery family would donate time as well. I have watched my children grow up playing at this venue. Last year I was fortunate enough to play with them at the auditorium as an accompanying musician for the high school talent show. It was special to me because it was the last talent show that my oldest son could perform as a student.
