It has been twelve months since Barack Obama assumed office on that frigid January 2009 in Washington D.C. How shall we judge the president's first year?

Max J Castro - Is this Fidel Castro's cousin? Obama isn't doing a good job at squat except reading a teleprompter and he's gotten that wrong occasionally.
I guess we'll find out how much America likes the changes pushed through legislation during our next election; and we'll certainly find out during our next presidential election. If we had to endure 4 years of Carter to get to 8 years of Reagan, it was worth it. Likewise, surely we can get through the next 3 years to get to whomever is running against this socialist in 2012. I sure hope the next guy measures up to the Reagan standard.
Also, I'm a teabagger - but, I do believe the government can do good things; they can get out of the way and let capitalism work (that is a good thing).
Let's not forget 2010. We have an opportunity to make Odumbo a lame duck president in November. We need to be sure to vote for only conservative candidates.
I'm all for a Fair Tax, and certainly a Flat Tax. However, you have to consider the folks that saved over the past 50 years under a tax sheltered account and then retire in, say, 2010. Now, if we move to eliminate the income tax - how is that fair to those folks? Our sales tax will jump from 8% to like 20% - and they've already followed the rules to avoid income tax. So, it'd have to be some sort of sliding scale based on age, right? Do you know of anyone (reputable) who has published anything on this? I'd like to study it a little more-because I know it's coming before I retire.
It would be worth reading the Fair Tax book. Every Question you have is in it. The tax on products are exclusive, where the tax is added at the end of the sale. The Fair tax is an inclusive tax that is basically the same price as normal. Fair tax eliminates the 17th amendment. Congress will have to have a super majority always to change it. The flat tax can be changed with a simple majority, and leaves the 17th amendment in place. What money you earn either in investments or in the bank, when you draw it out the total amount you put in your pocket. The only tax you pay, is when you buy something. When you buy anything used there is no tax-- car or house.Check it out I think you will like it. April 15 will just be another day.
Only one I know of but is considered to be THE book on the subject.
Based on this, low income people (retirees) would get a "pre-bate" that would cover taxes on basic necessities. Also, since retirement income is saved pre-tax and then withdrawn with taxes, this would actually save retirees money.
Wow.... would one of you loan me your Limbaugh subliminal tape? I know it ain't the drugs that are makin' y'all spooky so it must be the brainwashin pap y'all listen to....LMAO

To Max J. Castro......I do hope you are writing from an island and not off American land OR The Oval Office.

We need a new political party.
