JC, if you put as much effort into getting the potholes filled as you do backing the paid vol. fire chief the roads maybe safer in Pike.
$18k for a paid chief can fill a lot of holes @ $85 per hole equates to 211 potholes filled? A life vs. paying a volunteer? Don’t add up!
That's a little dramatic, "a life vs a volunteer". I agree there shouldn't be a paid volunteer, and I agree that the roads are terrible and the money is better spent on the roads; however, fire protection is equally as lifesaving if not moreso than holes in the road. I would say that its common sense that we would benefit more as a community with better roads rather than having a paid volunteer. I would not say it is lifesaving, I have to respectfully disagree.
Post #2.1.2 was not written by me. I support Danny with all I have. He is a shinning light to our community. Wait and see. Give him your full support, next time you see him on the street give him a big salute and a pat on the butt for all his hard work. Danny is a nice guy and gave up his fulltime job just for us.
