Tiger says he's sorry; will play again

Tiger Woods re-emerged into public life Friday, issuing another apology for his infidelity at a closely scripted event and affirming he will play golf again — he's just not sure when.

Speaking before a small group at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse and a massive television audience, one of the world's most-recognized athletes repeatedly told his family, sponsors and fans — in essence, everyone connected with him — that he was sorry for his behavior.

Why does the great JC and friends want and support a liar? Your klan busted Marro's chops for his indiscretions yet you promote the same bad behavior in the fire chief?

Yes Marro is gone and us cave people sent him packing. We now have a professional fire chief that is giving us his services for a mere $18 a year. Danny was meant to happen and a true blessing for our county. Oh did I mention he is a former marine just like Steve Fry.

You know what i think? I am so SICK of all this political correctness crap, whenever a celebrity or politician does something bad, wrong, whatever, EVERYBODY in the free world jumps all over the publicity.

This is just like our "wonderful" athlete, Michael Vick, Tiger will be contrite & very apologetic, until the time comes for the Big Bucks to start rolling in again,& the "PHONEY" american people will be right there to pat him on the back, tell him what a GREAT "man" he is & never give any of this a second thought, when in GOD`s name did it tell the fans that "you look the other way" because they are our "heroes" Tiger Woods is a low life, money grubbing, fan trashing piece of crap just like the other one named up above...Wake up people, they dont care one IOTA for their fans, in private we are all a big joke to them

Sounds like you are worshipping these guys instead of God. If you made them your role model then you should turn back to Jesus. They are just human and what they have done are between them and their belief system.

The worst thing about this whole thing is whether you or me or anybody else likes it Tiger is a ROLE Model and kids look up to him for various reasons but number one he is a Incredible Golfer. Well this is just another thing for kids to say down the road "Well if Tiger does it I can do it" That is what is sad about this.

Now on a sidenote if his wife takes him back she is more insane them him.

Sorry man but in my house Tiger or no other athelete is a role model. I teach my child that all humans are infallable and to look at others to immulate is wrong. If everyone spend time talking to their children then they would have some good role models, their parents and their belief system.

JC, I have a pretty good idea who you are, I could be wrong, but dont think so, could you tell me please, what does Tiger & our Firechief have in common, this is supposed to be remarks in reference to this particular article, I am sorry about the chief but my gosh keep things in their right perspective

JC you want to support Henderson cause he wasn't smart enough to keep a real job. Now he will problally loose his house, cars, wife? due to his own stupidity. Is Pike County into the charity business? Give everybody something.

Tiger is not the problem. What he did was wrong but it is between him and his wife. If your kid thinks that it is ok to do these things cause Tiger did, then you need to go back and reflect on their raising. We use these things as an opening to a discussion in our house about why it is wrong. Now if a kid has no parents involved with his life, what Tiger does is the least of his problems.

By the way also if I had kids I would raise them the right way but that does not account for all the other kids who come from broken homes and bad marriages but wait you are great about making assumptions.

My post was not a comment directed at yours, it was in general about sport stars being role models. So i guess the only one making Assumptions was you. This was addressed to anyone with kids. I am sorry if you somehow took what I said as attack on your character.

I forgot evereyone on message boards has a chip on their shoulder and just waits for someone to flame.

Wow you are right and I apologize I thought you were talking about me and I was wrong and I apologize.
It makes me sick to my stomach sometimes to see some of these people that kids look up to. They should be hopefully looking up to their guardians for what is right and what is wrong.
Then again I look at some of these ROLE MODELS that are out there in todays society and the impact they could make on kids lives. I think about it in sports especially and I have thought for example and excuse me if this offends anyone and I am not a Holy Roller but what if some of these Sports Role Models talked about kids going to Church etc. I knew part of the world was changing when I noticed Recreational Sports games and tournaments being schedule on Sundays and Weds Nights. These used to be No No's and were considered Church Days another place where kids could get some great guidance also.
But Tiger I dont care how he says it or does he will have to be held accountable for his actions bigtime one day. All this time he was eh nevermind I want to get onto a rant.

No worries, I don't get offended easy. I myself am raising 4 kids in todays society and feel like Society is constantly fighting against the values we teach. Everyone is capable of making mistakes, but we all need to learn that our mistakes have consequences.

As much as I love living in Pike county (going on 18 years now) the longtimers here have a tendency to overblow anything that might mean a change to the good people living here, like all oldsters they want everything to stay the same, the way they like it, that is why we dont really have anything new in Pike to bolster our economy, therefor we all go North or South & give it to them, and that is why this PROTEST is a waste of time, without revenue coming in the only thing left to do is TAX TAX TAX the people, think about that Y`ALL

Tiger has contributed more money annually to children education causes than the rest of us will make in our entire lives. He is a lusty Tiger. Guilty of the same thing that Jimmy Carter confessed and Bill Clinton denied. Tiger lusted over many, Jimmy lusted in his heart and Clinton lusted all over Monica's blue dress. After the lust & dust clears....Tiger will still have more money, morals, fans, and green coats than the other two JERKS put together. History will remember Jimmy Carter for being the peanut farmer that gave away The Panama Canal, Bill Clinton as the first presidential whore hopper who lied under oath and Tiger Woods as The Best Golfer Ever.

WOW sheila,you really hold Tiger in high esteem, sounds like a double standard to me, he is NO BETTER than the other 2 that you mentioned,as for his money, that doesnt make hime decent it just makes him rich enough to buy all that he wants if you get my drift, as for the green coats, green doesnt look too good on him, & I am betting you that he has seen his last one, that is if the fans have any sence at all, you cant play too well when your peers & the fans are looking at you like you are dirt, what do you do with dirt? you get rid of it, you dont sweep it under the rug

I respect him for working to become an excellent golfer. I respect him for the racial battles that he had to fight to get to his professional level that no Caucasians endured. I hold him in high esteem as a financial contributor to children's organizations. I hold him in high esteem for taking all the blame himself. I hold him in high esteem for not lying about it, even when he was not under oath. Mostly, I am proud of him for standing up there and begging the media to leave his children, wife and Mother alone. Dorothy, I have had three previous husbands, I finally have one that I trust. Do you have a husband? Do you really know where he has been every minute? Do you know who he is really thinking about in intimate moments? Of coarse not. I personally do not care either way if Elin divorces Tiger. You can bet he will see his children as often as possible and they will need for nothing that he will not supply or want for much that he will not give. Now let's all cry and send money to Jimmy Swaggert, the twenty dollar whore hopper. The one who went to a sacred cemetery and let his whore stand naked as if she were Christ while he photographed her. A moment of silence for Bill, have a cigar, Clinton. He ruined a perfectly good pretty blue dress. The one that Monica had her Mother put in her freezer to preserve the love liquid, swearing the whole time that she had no negative intentions. Get real. How many dresses have you had your Mom freeze? NONE, I bet. I hope Tiger adds another green jacket this year. I am a positive person. I also hope that Jimmy, I gave away The Panama Canal, has a good peanut crop. And Bill, I never had sex with that woman, keeps every dry cleaner in the United States busy. And please Jesus, give Lobster Lady Obama a closet full of burkas and her husband, Hussein, several turbans that cover his entire head.

Sheila, we may not agree on Tiger, the rest we do agree on, & for that I do applaud you, and the very last line above, WE are in complete agreement, and I do have to put in one more jab at Tiger, I do not believe he will ever see another green coat in his closet, this will probably be the end of hie "illustrious" career, he will not be able to take the brundt of his peers & fans, that is what keeps him going, being able to shun those that he thinks is not totally for TIGER, sorry, but the man is in the same league with those other 2 scum balls...

Dorothy, I truly believe Tiger will bounce back and be better than ever. His Dad taught him to be a tough competitor. He loved his Dad dearly and I believe that will be a part of the reason for a successful comeback. He has lost VERY FEW male fans. They may say different but that is not what they think. I think he will have more green coats. If not, I owe you a cup of coffee. I place him in a different league from the other two we mentioned because we paid their salary. Nike has stood by Tiger and I believe they will be rewarded for that decision. Although they may need to reconsider that "just do it" phrase.

Tiger's words were OK. He has been a cheat his entire married life. He got caught. He didn't bring it to the open. I don't see how his wife can ever trust him again. Like all of humanity, his only hope of change is turning to Jesus Christ the Savior in true and absolute confession and repentance and continuance in Christian discipleship. Same for me.

If Tiger will do this and his wife is willing, God can restore... but I think Tiger is choosing Buddhism ... bad choice.
