Pike first graders played historic roles during A Night At The Museum on Thursday, Jan. 21. The event was sponsored by the PTO and brought hundreds of people to see their young wax characters come to life.
First grade students lined the hall of the "museum" with lights dimmed as night guards with flashlights let in visitors. When buttons placed in front of the students were pressed, they sprang to life and told about the famous character they were dressed up as. The halls were lined with historic characters, famous sports stars, musicians, actors and more.
"The money will help with technology costs for the school. They don't really have the money because of budget constraints in the school system," said PTO president Kellie Wheeless. "Nix is hoping to get webcams for the technology room. They have 25 computers in the computer lab and she teaches all kinds of cool lessons in there. Even pre-schoolers know how to use the computers."
