Pike divers, members of the Spalding-Pike County Underwater Evidence Team, assisted Sunday with the recovery of the body of an as yet unidentified man who drowned in a farm pond near Alvaton after a fishing mishap.
Isn't Captain Tyree a certifird diver and works with all counties? We lost a good man when Steve Fry got Lt. Henderson to sign on as a paid $18,000 volunteer fire cheif. Tyrees services were all above board, non paid volunteer, non Fry Marro butt kisser. Huh, come to think of it, Lt. Henderson can dive.
Are you saying Pike County has three full-time "paid" firefighters, all at one firehouse; and you think Pike County needs 3 full-time "paid" firefighters at each firehouse in 2016? Would the volunteers then help the fulltime firemen? Are you saying there shouldn't be volunteers? If Pike County decides to move to professional firefighters, what makes you think you would get the job - assuming that is the purpose of your comment? I hope they have a literacy requirement, if and when the county decides to move in that direction. I have to agree with Concord Resident. What would the new costs be if Pike changed? Would the decrease in insurance premiums make up that difference, assuming there would be a decrease...? EMS is subsidized, not 100% funded by taxes; so I'm not sure you can compare the two in such a way as you might have indicated in some other posts - or, at least trying to surmise what you might have meant in other posts (it's difficult with so many anons and further complicated by incomplete sentences/thoughts)...
Whoa, I can't agree with that. My neighbor and some family members are firemen; and I respect them very much (as does most of the free world). You should thank them and hope you never have to see them in action. Being a Fireman should be considered something one 'aspires to be'. Have you ever taken a kid to the firehouse - you couldn't wipe the smile off their face... Social Reject? Socially, most any Fireman is probably better connected than you, most definitely with social service.
At the same time, I'm sure there are some Firemen that aren't typical; but, by-and-large, they're fine folks and more Socially Competent than most.
I was simply attempting to figure out what the guy keeps trying to tell us on here - every time there is an article about Fire or EMS, he post something no one can understand. I'm thinking we should all post something back each time this guy posts, like: "yellow rabbit. 6 firehouses, 2 firemen. cold weather. fire hydrants leak. marro just don't get it." LOL
