Longtime Pike County citizen and author Ann Yearwood holds a copy of her latest book, Fifteen Red Roses: The Challenge of Public School Race Relations in Rural Georgia. While the book is fiction, it is based on her experiences as a teacher in Pike County schools during the tumultuous years of integration and the Civil Rights Movement. Proceeds from sales of the book will go toward the Geneva Woods / Ann Yearwood Sholarship to be presented to Pike County High School seniors.
